An Athena caller at 1:50 p.m. reported someone cut the wires to a battery and stole it from a vehicle on West Garfield Street.
A 20-year-old Pendleton man and his passenger escaped injury when the Mazda 626 they were in crashed at about 3 p.m. on Highway 204 near Weston. Oregon State Police reported the driver said the car wobbled, that it got worse, then the brakes locked up and the vehicle slid.
The Mazda left the south side of the roadway and rolled multiple times, but both occupants crawled out and declined medical help.
A Pendleton caller at 3:46 p.m. reported someone put dog feces on the driver's side door handle of a vehicle on Southwest Eighth Street.
Two pit bull dogs at about 5:50 p.m. on East Diagonal Boulevard, Hermiston, charged and attacked a woman's dog while she was walking it. She told police she fought the pit bulls, and their owner came out and yelled at her. She also said the dogs have attacked before and she has a witness.
An Athena caller at about 8 p.m. reported a large silver king cab pickup went more than 80 mph on West Sherman Street, scaring multiple children in the area and kicking up gravel.
A man at 8:51 p.m. reported the theft of his dark gray 2012 Toyota Matrix from Chateaubri Mobile Home Park, 1030 S.W. 11th St., Hermiston. He also told police who stole it.
A caller at about 9 p.m. told Hermiston police about possible physical abuse.
A male at 9:14 p.m. told Hermiston police a driver ran over and killed his dog on the 1500 block of Northeast 10th Street.
Hermiston police arrested Noe Viesca, 38, of 701 Eighth St., Umatilla, for first-degree trespass, second-degree possession of a forged instrument, second-degree forgery and possession of methamphetamine.
