•A motorcyclist crashed at about 9:30 a.m. on Highway 204 near milepost 18 in the westbound side, Oregon State Police reported. The 77-year-old man from Longview, Wash., was going 40 mph when he applied his front brakes too hard, began to slide and rolled the motorcycle on its side. The trailer it was towing separated, and the motorcycle came to rest in the lane of travel. The driver left the scene to seek medical treatment at St. Mary Medical Center, Walla Walla, before OSP arrived.

•Someone busted in and ransacked a home in the 700 block of Southeast First Street, Pendleton, a caller told police at 11:45 a.m. She said she was house sitting for the homeowners and discovered the burglary, and there are several items missing.

•A rodeo cowboy at 12:50 p.m. told Pendleton police that someone stole prescription painkillers from his gear in the locker room at Happy Canyon while he was participating Wednesday in the Professional Bullriders Rodeo at the arena, 1601 Westgate, Pendleton.

•A man from Sunnyside, Wash., told Hermiston police at 2:10 p.m. that he paid $1,000 for hay from a Hermiston man who hasn’t delivered the hay. Hermiston police referred the call to the Sunnyside Police Department.

•A caller at 5:28 p.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office that a man with a bat threatened her along Highway 332. She said she saw him hit vehicles with the bat a few days ago and Thursday he cut a chain on a gate to enter property.

•Sprinklers turned on at about 10 p.m. at the Pendleton Family Aquatic Center, 1901 N.W. Carden Ave., soaking campers who were there for a swim meet. The swim meet coordinator called public works at 10:16 p.m. to have someone turn off the sprinklers


•Three people were stranded in a boat near McNary Beach, a caller at 8 p.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office. The caller said there were two adults and a child in the boat and a key broke off in the ignition, but the caller wasn’t able to tow the boat.

•Someone took lug nuts and wires from a race car at the Columbia Motor Speedway Park, 81236 N. Highway 395, Hermiston, a  caller at 11:31 a.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office.


•A man may have suffered a broken nose in a fight in the Pheasant Cafe & Lounge, 149 E. Main St., Hermiston, a caller at 12:41 a.m. told Hermiston police.

•A Pendleton woman found the TV, DVD player, musical instruments and more missing from her residence in the 1700 block of Southwest Frazer Avenue, she told police at 1:22 a.m. She said had been out of town since late June.

•A man told Hermiston police at 1:38 a.m. that someone stole his $500 Shih Tzu from his vehicle while he was shopping at Walmart, 1350 N. First St., Hermiston.

•A man at 9 a.m. told the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office that someone “punched and smashed” the windshield of his race car Saturday night at the Columbia Motor Speedway Park, 81236 N. Highway 395, Hermiston.

•A Umatilla man at 8:42 p.m. told Hermiston police it was 102 degrees and his wife locked him out of the house and wanted hims to sleep in the garage. Hermiston referred the cal to Umatilla police.

•Sunday’s stormy weather caused some hazards in Hermiston. Callers from about 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. told police about broken power lines and downed trees and branches. A caller at 7:34 p.m. said one tree fell on a car in the Sunshine Court Apartments, 690 S.W. Ninth St. Another caller 10 minutes later said trees were blocking the 1500 block of West Orchard Avenue, and a tree was in the roadway near 77600 South Edwards Road. And a caller at 8:20 p.m. said a power line fell on Highway 207 near Echo.

•A Umatilla County Sheriff’s deputy at 10:08 p.m. asked Umatilla police to send an officer to the marina there to identify the number of a boat with a flat bottom and a red stripe. The deputy wanted information about a sturgeon poacher in that boat.



•Oregon State Police arrested Kevin James Cane, 20, no address provided, for possession of methamphetamine.


•Hermiston police arrested Josue Grimaldo, 19, 1030 S.W. 11th St., Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and cocaine.

•Hermiston police arrested Juan Murillo Villarreal, 22, of 1080 W. Nelson Lane, Hermiston, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

•Umatilla police arrested Luis Ernesto Fuentes Parada, 25, no address provided, for six counts each of first-degree forgery and first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, and one count each of identity theft, first-degree theft and possession of methamphetamine.


•Oregon State Police cited Angela Rae Krika, 44, of Milton-Freewater, for DUII.

•Pendleton police cited Sosa Diaz Gerardo, 25, of 4207 Broadlane Ave., Pendleton, for DUII.


•Pendleton police arrested Richard Flores Madrigal, 26, no address provided, for possession of methamphetamine.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office cited at least one person for public indecency after a caller at 8:51 p.m. said a male and female took nude picture of a second female near the boat ramp at Hat Rock State Park, 82280 Hat Rock Road, Hermiston.
