<p>A Ford Ranger pickup at 4:35 p.m. lost traction at milepost 238 of Interstate 84, slid into the median, rolled once and came to a stop on the driver's side. The driver, a 63-year-old man from Rexburg, Idaho, suffered minor injuries.</p>


•Hermiston police at 9:41 a.m. received a report of a theft of an air compressor and chains worth $785 from a residence on East Main Street.

•Someone kicked in the doors to restrooms at West Wallace and South Water streets, Weston, a caller reported at 9:58 a.m.

•A Chevrolet pickup eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 223 overheated and caught fire shortly before noon. The fire totally destroyed the pickup, Oregon State Police reported, but the 28-year-old driver from Puyallup, Wash., was unharmed and the travel trailer he hauled was OK.

•A man at 12:07 p.m. reported a break-in and theft of a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun and a .22 rifle from his cabin on the 77800 block of Cold Springs Loop, Weston.

•A man at 12:38 p.m. reported the theft of his .45 double-action semiautomatic pistol and a camera from his residence on the 80700 block of South Edwards Road, Hermiston.

•A father at 3:45 p.m. told Pendleton police a juvenile male may have assaulted his 12-year-old daughter and almost pushed her off the foot bridge near Sunridge Middle School, 700 S.W. Runnion Ave.

•A woman at 6:55 p.m. asked Pendleton police to help her because her former boss won’t stop contacting her. She said the employer harassed her via text and phone about money problems at work and then fired her via text.


•A Pendleton man at 10:44 a.m. reported a stranger at about 12:30 a.m. tried to force his way into his home on the 200 block of Northwest 12th Street. The stranger was male, Asian, under 5 feet tall. The man told police he shoved the stranger off the porch and told him he had a gun. The stranger left.

•Someone stole wheels and tires worth $1,200 from a van at Trinity Lutheran Church, 485 W. Locust Ave., Hermiston, a caller reported at 10:51 a.m.

•An Echo woman at 12:50 p.m. reported she was going to a hospital because of a bite she suffered in a fight.

•Pendleton police at 12:55 p.m. received a report of a sex crime.


•A Hermiston resident at 7:30 a.m. reported the theft of two cases of beer from a refrigerator in a shed on East Dogwood Avenue.

•A Pendleton mother at 8:33 a.m. reported she discovered her 13-year-old son harassed a 12-year-old girl via phone and email. She asked for an officer to speak to her son. Police told him to stop contacting the girl or he would face criminal charges.

•A woman at 10:32 a.m. reported the theft of two rifles, a handgun and other items from a friend’s residence on the 84300 block of Highway 339, Milton-Freewater.

•Icy roads on Interstate 84 near Emigrant State Park and Meacham led to a couple of crashes on the eastbound side, according to Oregon State Police. The driver of a Ford F250 pickup suffered minor injuries when the vehicle hit the median and rolled at 4:21 p.m. near milepost 235. An OSP trooper later took the 59-year-old Baker City man to St. Anthony Hospital, Pendleton.

•A resident at the Rodeo City Inn, 74147 Barnhart Road, Pendleton at 9:55 p.m. reported a dog killed her dog.



•Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeffrey Robert Balster, 59, no address provided, for driving under the influence of intoxicants. The sheriff’s office reported his blood-alcohol level was .28 percent, more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent. He has received citations for driving without a license and failure to carry proof of insurance.

•Stanfield police cited Jaime Martinez-Garcia, no age or address provided, for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Michael Alan Thorne Jr., 32, of Ukiah, for felony domestic violence.


•Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office arrested Devan Ray Phillips, 27, of Hermiston, for domestic violence, harassment and interfering with making a report.

•Stanfield police arrested Omar Resendiz, no age or address provided, for duii.

•A Umatilla County sheriff’s deputy arrested Jose Manuel Longoria Sr., 47, of, Hermiston, for fourth-degree assault and harassment.

•Pendleton police arrested Bruce Wilkins, 45, of Pendleton, for second-degree assault.


•Hermiston police arrested Kevin Haskell Bond, 41, of 80697 Wagon Wheel Loop, Irrigon, or possession of methamphetamine.

•Pendleton police arrested Steven Walsborn, 58, of 905 S.W. 30th St., Pendleton, for duii.

•Hermiston police at 6:18 p.m. cited Edgar Eduardo Pablo-Martin, 20, of 807 Euclid Ave., Shelton, Wash., for duii. Police at 7:55 p.m. then arrested him for the same offense and booked him into the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton. His blood-alcohol level was .15 percent the first time and .12 percent the second, both above the legal limit of .08 percent.

•Pendleton police arrested Michael Clark Morris, 54, of 2501 Marion St., North Bend, for duii and cited him for driving while suspended and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. And police booked him in the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, on an unrelated warrant.
