•A caller at 8:22 a.m. reported a break-in and theft of several items from his shop on the 32600 block of West Spearman Road, Hermiston.

•A man at 9:28 a.m. reported the theft of a torch and tanks from a meat freezer on the 76700 block of McNab Lane, Ione.

•A pair of Milton-Freewater callers at about 10:30 a.m. reported thefts from mailboxes on the 800 block of Evans Street and the 100 block of South Main.

•Thieves stole two four-wheelers and a chainsaw from the 600 block of West Gettman Road, Hermiston, the property owner reported at 11:35 a.m.

•A caller 1:22 p.m. reported the theft of a stereo, amplifier and subwoofer from his vehicle during the weekend on Southwest Shane Court, Hermiston.

•A Milton-Freewater area woman at 1:36 p.m. reported the theft of $275 at her residence on the 53100 block of Stateline Road. She said she may know who took the cash from her purse.

•A car salesman at 3:57 p.m. reported a man stole the silver-gray Honda CR-V he was test driving from Tom Denchel Ford Country, 555 S. Highway 395, Hermiston.



•Pendleton police arrested Joseph Avery Totten, 22, no address provided, for possession of methamphetamine.

•Pendleton police arrested a pair of shoplifters after one threatened to shoot a security employee at Wal-Mart, according to police information.

Ben Rhode, the head of theft prevention at the Pendleton store, 2203 S.W. Court Ave., told police at 4:21 p.m. he had a suspected shoplifter who threatened to shoot him and then ran from the store. Police caught the man in a vehicle on Southgate at the entrance to Interstate 84 near milepost 209. Police arrested George W. Picard, 56, no address provided, for menacing and second-degree robbery and theft. Police also arrested a woman on the strength of probable cause for conspiracy to commit second-degree theft.

•Hermiston police arrested Jason Jon Miller, 40, of Umatilla, for domestic violence.
