Ralph Clifford DeBoer


HERMISTON - Ralph Clifford DeBoer, 92, of Hermiston died on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at his home. Funeral services was held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the Hermiston Christian Center at 1825 W. Highland Ave. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery. Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. DeBoer was born Nov. 14, 1915, in Thedford, Neb. to Walter and Ellen DeBoer. He married Isabel Picker in 1947 in Hermiston. He worked as an iron worker on the construction of McNary and The Dalles dams, and at the Umatilla Army Depot. He also worked as a custodian at Stanfield High School for 22 years.

He was a member of the Hermiston Christian Center. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Isabel of Hermiston; son Ralph W. DeBoer of Lexington; daughter Janice DeBoer of Hermiston; brothers Charles DeBoer of Gustavis, Alaska, and Dale DeBoer of Wenatchee, Wash.; sister Euretta Shirley of Bellevue, Wash.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
