PENDLETON - A memorial service for Stanley Franks will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28 in the chapel at Burns Mortuary of Pendleton.

Mr. Franks, 79, of Pendleton, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at St. Anthony Hospital.

He was born March 9, 1925, at Caldwell, Idaho, to Ernest and Evalina Franks.

On Sept. 4, 1950, he and his wife, Mary, were married. They came to Pendleton in 1951.

Mr. Franks worked with the fire department and was known for his Fourth of July fireworks display at the Airport Fire Station.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary Franks, at the home; daughter, Karen Franks, son, David Franks, four grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.

Burns Mortuary of Pendleton is in charge of arrangements.
