PENDLETON - A funeral for Thelma Elizabeth Wyrick Krause will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Burns Mortuary Chapel with interment at Helix Cemetery.

Mrs. Krause, 90, died Nov. 2, 2002 at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton.

Mrs. Krause was a longtime resident of Pendleton. She was born May 23, 1912 in Pendleton to John Franklin and Sadie LaVerna Smith Wyrick. The family home was situated seven miles east of Helix on a wheat ranch.

When she was 5 years old, the family moved to LaCrosse, Wash. When she was 12 years old, the family returned back to Oregon, settling in Milton-Freewater.

On July 28, 1934, she was married to Samuel Krause in Walla Walla. In 1941 they moved to Pendleton.

They loved to travel and spent several winters in Arizona. They were married for 53 years. Samuel Krause died July 13, 1987.

Mrs. Krause was an avid crocheter and enjoyed crafting and crossword puzzles. She was a long-time member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two nephews and four nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Wayne Wyrick and Elden Wyrick.
