THE DALLES - Victoria Lester, 67, died Dec. 23, 2007, at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center in The Dalles.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Jan. 12, 2008, at the Nazarene Church in Arlington.

Ms. Lester was born Aug. 9, 1940 to Lester Victor and Vivian Rebecca (Lieuallen) Wheelhouse in The Dalles. She spent her school years in Arlington, and worked every summer as a waitress at the Pheasant Grill. She attended Oregon State University, and transferred to Eastern Oregon University, where she met and married Jake Grossmiller.

The family moved to Arlington, where she worked for Chemical Waste Management. After her divorce, she worked with her son Gary in the Happy Canyon Pizza Parlor.

She was a happy, gregarious person who loved life. She enjoyed horseback riding as a young woman, and loved to cook and entertain.

Ms. Lester is survived by son Gary Grossmiller of Arlington; daughter Susan Logan of Vancouver, Wash.; aunt Anice James of Gresham; one granddaughter; and many cousins and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Nazarene Church Youth Center in Arlington.
