ENTERPRISE - Wayne L. Locke, 74, of Enterprise, died Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at Las Vegas, Nev.

A memorial service for Mr. Locke will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 22, at the Enterprise Christian Church.

Mr. Locke was born Aug. 31, 1930, at Jordan, Mont., to Corda L. and Mable Zollman Locke. When he was four, he, his sisters, and parents moved to Wallowa County. He graduated from Wallowa High School in 1948.

He had begun dating Laura Jean Pace their junior year in high school and the couple married July 27, 1949, at Enterprise.

He was employed as a mechanic at Caterpillar, the Ford garage, and retired in 1986 as shop foreman at Courtney Motors.

He enjoyed flying RC planes, fishing the outdoors, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Jean, at the home; daughter, Teresa Earsley of Corte Madera; son Kirk Locke and daughter-in-law, Diana Locke, of Pendleton; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wallowa Valley Health Care Foundation or Enterprise Community Connection Endowment Fund through Bollman Funeral Home, 315 W. Main, Enterprise, OR 97828.
