HERMISTON - On July 9, Umatilla County deputies arrested three women for allegedly attacking and assaulting another woman, who was eight months pregnant.

Deputies arrested Sagrario Cortez, 19, Amelia Cortez, 21, and a 16-year-old juvenile. The three women are sisters and live on East Punkin Center Road, where they were arrested.

The assault allegedly occurred around 7:12 p.m., when Hermiston Police said the sisters attacked Amanda Renee Cazares near her apartment at 1630 W. Sunland Avenue. During the fight, the juvenile allegedly smashed a bottle against Cazares' head.

Cazares said she had previously gotten into an argument with the 16-year-old over a personal issue. Both threatened to fight each other, Hermiston Police said.

Police said Cazares suffered several injuries during the alleged attack, but was treated by ambulance personnel.

The two elder sisters were taken to the Umatilla County Jail and the juvenile was housed at the Umatilla County Juvenile Department.
