PORTLAND - Pinch-hitter John Adamson stroked a line-drive double to right field, scoring Caleb Tommasini with the winning run as Oregon rallied for a 3-2 victory over Oregon State in 10 innings Saturday night.

The game was played before a Pac-10 regular-season record 15,540 fans at PGE Park.

The Beavers led 2-0 lead through 7 1/2 innings. But the Ducks sent the game to extra innings after scoring twice in the eighth on just one base hit.

After a scoreless ninth and first half of the tenth, Tommasini started the bottom of the tenth with a walk and was sacrificed to second.

Adamson then bounced a double to right field to score Tommasini with the winning run.

With the win, Oregon (11-13) evened its Pac-10 record at 1-1.

Oregon's baseball program had been dormant from 1981 until this season. Oregon State (14-6), which recently won back-to-back national championships, is also 1-1 in league play.

Oregon starter Erik Stavert cruised through the first six innings giving up just three hits. But Oregon State got the first run in the seventh after a single by Stephen Romero, a walk by Michael Miller and a two-out single by John Wallace.
