PENDLETON?- Umatilla County has released the lists of finalists for the 2010 Umatilla County Athletic Achievement Awards, which recognize individual athletes, coaches, teams and scholar athletes.

The awards will be held at the Hermiston High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 12, and are open to the public.

This year a special award will be given to Hermiston graduate Richole Berger to recognize her four state championships in girls' tennis.

Umatilla County is sponsoring the event for the 15th year.

"It has been a great partnership and opportunity to give kids a bit of recognition for a job well done,"?said Umatilla County Commissioner Bill Hansell.

Former Pendleton High School standout athlete, owner of Dean's Pendleton Athletic and Helix girls' basketball coach Dean Fouquette is this year's keynote speaker.

All finalists will receive some type of recognition and the scholar athletes will receive a small scholarship to continue their education.
