The third annual Columbia River Bank Takin' it to the Streets 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is on its way, and the deadline to sign up is even closer.

The tournament takes place on Main Street in Hermiston July 19-20, and the sign-up deadline is Friday, July 11.

Last year 139 teams participated in the two-day event, and event director Larry Usher said he's expecting a similar turnout, though it's hard to gauge with so many teams registering in the final days before the cut-off.

There are classifications available for any team from third grade up through men's elite, including high school, co-ed and recreational.

Teams may have a maximum of four players, and games play to 20 points or 25 minutes. Ties are broken in a win-by-two overtime format, and referees will officiate all youth and elite games.

Along with 3-on-3 games will be the Swain Automotive Group's On the Mark 3-point Shootout and the Bellinger Farms Slam Dunk Contest.

Registration forms are available at Hermiston area businesses and online at
