EVERETT, Wash. — Josh Birkholz had five points to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 5-2 victory over the Tri-City Americans in Western Hockey League play Friday night.

Scott MacDonald added two goals and an assist and Luke Siemens stopped 45 shots in goal for Everett (7-7-4), which snapped a three-game losing streak.

Birkholz had three goals and two assists, polishing off his hat trick with an empty netter. He had four points coming into the game.

Kruise Reddick and Nils Moser scored for Tri-City (11-6-2). Drew Owsley stopped 11 of 15 shots before being pulled in the second period. Chris Dreidger stopped all 11 shots he faced in relief.

The Americans will remain on the road for a game at Spokane tonight.
