PENDLETON - The Blue Mountain Community College rodeo team will be represented beginning today by six men and three women in the College National Finals Rodeo, a seven day event in Casper, Wyo.

BMCC had three regional champions, who will all compete in Casper. Dwight Osborne, of Mt. Vernon, was the Northwest Regional saddle bronc riding champion and Tony Green, Madras, was the region's top calf roper. He will also team rope at the CNFR. Kasey Bruce, Homedale, Idaho, was the champion barrel racer after the regular season.

Union's Blake West will also represent BMCC in saddle bronc competition and Kass Kayer of Ellensburg, Wash., will compete in calf roping. Hermiston team ropers Jake Stanley and Ty Sturza will compete for BMCC along with Stanfield's Jonie Nash (barrel racing) and Hermiston's Lacy Mespelt (breakaway roping).

More than 3,3000 rodeo contestants nation wide compete for the right to qualify for the CNFR, representing 142 colleges and universities.
