YAKIMA, Wash. - Trent Hollingsworth went 3 for 6 in the second game of an NWAACC doubleheader Saturday to help Blue Mountain defeat Yakima Valley 13-8. The Timberwolves lost the opener 12-8.

Hollingsworth went 4 for 6 in the first game, while Heppner High School graduate Brad Adams was 6 for 11 on the day with home runs in both games.

BMCC (9-13, 2-6 NWAACC) travels to Wenatchee Valley Wednesday.

BMCC softball splits

WALLA WALLA - A day removed from being swept by NWAACC East Division-leading Columbia Basin College, BMCC bounced back to earn a split Saturday over Walla Walla Community College winning 12-10, but fell 11-7.

Ashley Erickson, a Pilot Rock High School graduate, blasted a home run in the opener to help the Timberwolves out-hit WWCC 17-10. Meghan Meyer earned the win but took the loss in the nightcap.
