PENDLETON - The Blue Mountain Community College volleyball team lost to Spokane on Friday in NWAACC play.

BMCC shot out of the gates with a 30-24 win, but lost the last three games 30-18, 30-13 and 30-16.

Desi Staples led the Timberwolves by recording 40 kills and five blocks.

"Desi was a big force at the net tonight," BMCC coach Amber Evans said. "She is a strong player that continues to improve."

The Wolves were led in assists by Kelli Koppel, with 49.

"Overall we played well," Evans said. "We have a lot of young players that just need more experience, so that they can gain the confidence that is needed to win."

BMCC will face Bend today at home
