SHERMAN?65, HELIX 57 —?In Moro, a big first-half cushion gave Sherman plenty of room to beat Helix in a Big Sky Conference boys’ basketball game Saturday. The Huskies led 52-24 at the half and would win the game 65-57.

Helix (3-16, 1-9 BSC) turned the ball over too many times in the first half, Grizzlies coach Luke Hegdal said. When they cut the TO’s out and started playing together, it was a different game. Helix won the second-half battle 31-13.

“We did a better job of doing our assignments and controlling our turnovers,” the coach said. With last night, (at 52-39 win over Central Christian), and this one, we were able to kind of find our rhythm.”

Jason Bushman shouldered a lot of the Helix load with 24 points and Dusty Bennett scored 16. Derek Clark, a usual major point producer, finished with only three while playing partial time because of illness.

Helix hosts Ione on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in its next game.
