NIKE HAS TEAMED WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS OREGON to oragnize the Special Olympics Oregon Youth Games, which will be held from 9 a.m. tp 2 p.m. May 12 at Nike World Headquarters.
The event is for kids with disabilities between the ages of 8 and 18, or up to age 21 if enrolled in transition services with their local school.
Activities include track and field, softball and golf for the kids, with parents invited to check out the Tiger Woods Center.
Lunch will be provided for all along with sport and health related gifts.
The event is free but pre-registration is required.

MT. HOOD MEADOWS WILL HOLD THEIR CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION May 5 and 6 with Mexican fiesta menu and live perfomances by Moe Dixon on both days.
Skiing Magazine has called Dixon's aprés show the best aprés ski show in North America.
Fresh powder is expected to fall today with sunny conditions over the weekend.
Sports physicals will be given at Pendleton High School's Warberg Court on Monday, May 7 and Tuesday, May 15 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. each night.
Cost is $15 and all money raised through these physicals will go to the athletic training program at participating schools.
Physicals will be for students in current 5th-11th grades. All participants should wear athletic clothing such as shorts and t-shirt.
A parent signature is required as well as information regarding the athlete. If a parent is unable to attend, blank forms may be picked up at the high school prior to May 7.
For questions, call the Pendleton High School athletic department at 966-3802. These two nights are the only times physicals will be offered before the 2007-08 school year.
The Rainbow Cafe will hold thier 7th annual Helix Heart of the Country Rodeo's Calcutta at 7 p.m. May 25.
Guests will get the chance to meet some of the cowboys and and bid on their favorites to be performing in the rodeo on the 26th.
All proceeds will go to the Helix High School Scholarship Fund.
THE ECHO QUARTERBACK CLUB GOLF TOURNAMENT will be held June 2 at Echo Hills Golf Course.
The event is a four-person scramble format and will have a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
Registration is $30 per a golfer with all funds going to support Umatilla County youth activities.
Team registration froms can be picked up a Echo Hills Golf Course. The tournament is limited to 20 teams.
