Tour for a Cure at Good Shepherd benefits Relay for Life

HERMISTON - A 15K family challenge and 50K charity bike ride will begin at 9 a.m. June 9 from the parking lot at Good Shepherd Medical Center. Registration begins at 8 a.m.

Cost for each ride is $30 or 30 sponsors. All money raised will go to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life June 22-23.

The person or family who brings in the most money for the event will win an MP3 player donated by the Good Shepherd Medical Center Anesthesia Group.

The event is sponsored by 3B's, Power Pro Relay for Life and the city of Hermiston.

Health foundation sponsors golf tournament

UMATILLA - The deadline for entering Scramble for Scholarships, a golf tournament raising money for area students seek careers in the medical field, is June 6.

Check-in and pairings for the event will be at 11:30 a.m. June 8 at the Umatilla Golf Course, 705 Willamette Ave. A barbecue lunch will begin at noon follwed by a shot gun start at 1 p.m. An awards ceremony and prize raffle will begin upon completion of the tournament. A no-host bar will follow.

Cost for the Good Shepherd Community Health Foundation-sponsored tournament is $60, which includes green fees, lunch and prizes. Tax deductible receipts for $20 are available.

The scramble is open to men and women of all skill levels.
