PENDLETON -?The Pendleton freshman baseball team ended its 26-game schedule with an unblemished record after beating Hermiston 14-4 and 12-2 Friday.

It is the second time in five seasons the team has accomplished the feat.

Coach Travis Zander said the team's record was the result of a high level of talent and a favorable schedule.

"Every year we have a pretty talented freshman group,"?Zander said. "It was a nice season. Any time you can go undefeated in a 26-game season, as a coach you feel like you're doing something right and the players were definitely doing things right."

Tyler Zyph and Jeff Eickstaedt won the games Friday while Jon Kline (6-9), Zyph (4--6), Eickstaedt (5-7), Wyatt Whitten (5-6) and Daniel Lebsock (4-5) turned in solid days at the plate.
