Pilot Rock's Mitch Byrnes was named to the Class 2A boys basketball All-State second team Thursday.
Byrnes was the only area player selected.
The 6-foot-1 junior point guard led Pilot Rock in scoring with 14.5 points a game.
Byrnes also averaged six rebounds, four assists and 2.5 steals per contest during the Columbia Basin Conference season.
After leading Pilot Rock to two consecutive district titles, Byrnes also was named to the CBC first team earlier this year.
"It's a great honor, not only for him, but for Pilot Rock basketball because it takes a whole team," Pilot Rock boys basketball coach Sam Byrnes said. "The opportunity was there for him this year to step up, and that's what he did."
Regis senior Blake Muscardin was named the 2A Player of the Year for the second consecutive season after leading the Rams to their third straight state championship.
First-team selections included Mike Nieraeth (Bonanza), Will McCoy (De La Salle), Garrett Fiddler (St. Mary's), Landon Boucher (Salem Academy) and Muscardin.
St. Mary's coach Rick Jackson was tabbed Coach of the Year.
