WALLA?WALLA?- The Gilbert Auto American Legion baseball team continued to struggle at the Walla?Walla Tournament Saturday, losing 9-3 to Moscow, Idaho, and 9-0 to Seattle Select.

Coach Travis Zander said it was the same story, different day in their opener as they gave up seven runs in the sixth inning of a game they led 3-1. Just one of Moscow's nine runs was earned according to Zander.

Then, despite a much improved defensive effort against Seattle, the Chargers couldn't make anything of their eight hits.

Sean VanPelt led off the fifth inning with a triple but was left stranded.

The team will play one game today at 8:30 a.m. and Zander said he isn't too worried their slump will carry on too long.

"This group works hard enough that they'll get out of it,"?he said. "They work hard and they believe in each other."
