Classic cowboy gear

HAT:?Broad-brimmed hats came north from Mexican Vaqueros, possibly evolved from the sombrero and helped keep the sun and rain off cowboys’ faces. These high peaked hats evolved into a variety of styles worn by cowboys today, from Texas “taco” hats to the flat hats of the buckaroos and open hats worn by bull riders and constructed from a variety of materials including straw, felt and beaver.

SHIRTS AND JEANS:?Early cowboy attire included cotton or wool pullover shirts that usually had no collars and buttons that ran partway down the front. Trousers of canvas have been replaced with denim jeans.
