MISSION - The Nixyaawii girls showed great focus after a trying week while taking a 51-32 win over Ione in Big Sky Conference play Friday night.

The Golden Eagles (13-5, 8-2 BSC) had not practiced for nearly a week while mourning the loss of one of their players, Pricilla Craig, who was killed in an auto accident Monday.

"I was proud of how the girls focused after all they have been through this week," Nixyaawii coach Jeremy Maddern said.

The Cardinals (4-11, 2-7 BSC) trailed 10-5 after the first quarter and 19-10 at the half. They were unable to make up the early deficit.

Mariah Watchman and Charity Edgmund led the Eagles with 12 points each, while Annette Sampson added 11 points.

Ione was led by Kylie Svetich with 12 points.

HELIX 51, ARLINGTON 25 - In Helix, Kylee Rogers led all scorers with 13 points as the Grizzlies took the Big Sky Conference win Friday.

Michelle Rucker paced the Honkers (4-10, 3-7 BSC) with 12 points while Addie Terjeson added nine points for the Grizzlies (15-2, 8-1 BSC).

"We were a little sluggish at the start but came alive in the second half," Helix coach Randy McKone said.

HEPPNER 58, ENTERPRISE 21 - In Heppner, the Mustangs, ranked No. 4 in the Class 2A poll, continued to dominate the Blue Mountain Conference with a win over Enterprise.

Aftan Betsinger led the Mustangs (15-2, 9-0 BMC) with 14 points while Lyndi Patton added 11.

The Mustangs were an impressive 21-of-28 from the free throw line, while Enterprise (9-9, 3-6 BMC) were 3-of-4.

Kylie Hankins led the Knights (12-5, 8-2 BSC) with 11 points. The Cougars (2-14, 0-10 BSC) were led by Elizabeth Ferge with a game-high 14 points.

Christina Barkley led the Rockets with 11 points. Ashley Kannard and Brittany Doherty had nine rebounds each while Alivia Winnett had five steals.
