LEWISTON, Idaho — The Eastern Oregon men’s basketball team used a run over the final two minutes of the game to steal a 66-63 victory over Lewis-Clark State College on Friday night.

Trailing by five with two minutes to play, Eastern allowed just one point the rest of the game while ripping off nine of their own to regain a lead they had held most of the game.

EOU?led 37-35 at halftime and were paced in scoring by Tony Eackles Jr. with 21 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the floor.

Trevor Phillips, of Hermiston, added four points and three rebounds.

Cross Country

LA?GRANDE?— The Eastern Oregon men’s cross country team will be back in action on Saturday at the 58th NAIA Men’s Cross Country National Championships at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.

This is the first year the race will be held at the course. A total of 321 runners from 96 schools will compete.

The No. 9 Mounties earned an at-large bid to the national meet.
