LA GRANDE - The Hermiston Bulldogs started their season with a 2-1 record in the La Grande Volleyball Jamboree Friday.

The Bulldogs took care of the Baker Bulldogs 25-17 and the Pendleton Buckaroos 25-17, but fell to the La Grande Tigers 14-25.

Mykael Bothum lead Hermiston with 12 kills and two blocks. Brittany Wilson chipped in with 16 digs for Hermiston.

Weston-McEwen 25,Union 23

UNION-The Weston-McEwen TigerScots served up a 25-23 win over Union in the Union Jamboree Friday.

Weston-McEwen controlled the match by serving 23 for 24 and battling at the net, recording five blocks and 14 digs.

TigerScot setter Darcy Thompson went 18-18 setting with four assists.

"It was a good game for us and a good start," said Weston-McEwen coach Shawn White.

Weston-McEwen plays again Thursday, Sept. 9 in the Mac-Hi Tournament.
