HERMISTON - The Hermiston Bulldogs girls tennis team had a good day on the courts Saturday as they beat Redmond and Crook County Saturday, each by a score of 7-1.

"We played pretty well in both matches," Hermiston coach Geoff Bullis said. "I thought Crook County was going to be a challenge, but we handled them fairly easily."

Rebecca Berger from Hermiston defeated Redmond's Kelli Sides 6-0, 6-1 in No. 1 singles, Redmond's Mikki Volz defeated Rebekah Adams 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 in No. 2 singles, Kimberly Crowther defeated Star Loy 6-2, 6-1 in No. 3 singles and Chelsey Vandewall defeated Redmond's Kariann Freitag 6-1, 6-2 in the final singles event.

Hermiston swept the doubles events against Redmond with the No. 1 doubles pair of Rachel Berger and Katelyn Alleman defeating Alicia Grover and Claire Adams 6-0, 6-0.

The Hermiston pair of Lacey Walchli and Leah Walchli defeated Candace Brown and Kayla Peter 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, the Bulldog's Andrea Wicks and Rene Swoboda defeated Afton Winner and Nicole Zinnifer 6-1, 6-3 and Holly Harmon and Sarah Adams from Hermiston defeated Chloe Miller and Sammy Nordstrom 6-1, 6-3.

Against Crook County, Rebecca Berger won 6-0, 6-0 against Shyla Hargrave in No. 1 singles, Adams from Hermiston was narrowly defeated 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 by Tiffany Hancock, Crowther from Hermiston defeated Holli McCormick 6-3, 4-6, 6-1 and the Bulldog's Vandewall defeated Margaret Claflin 6-1, 6-2 in the final singles event.

Rachel Berger and Alleman from Hermiston defeated Rachel Rich and Roxanne Rich 6-1, 6-0 in No. doubles.

Wicks and Swoboda from Hermiston topped Kayla Rasmussen and Allison Lent 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 doubles, Lacey and Leah Walchli defeated Crook County's Mollee Robinson and Molly Zook 6-2, 6-3 and Harmon and Adams from Hermiston defeated Jayne Zook and Alysia Flanary 6-2, 6-0 in the final doubles event.
