GRESHAM - The Hodgen Distributing Distributors fell to 0-2 at the Gresham Tournament, dropping an 8-5 decision to Ohio Saturday.

Brice Palm gave the Distributors an early 2-0 lead with a first inning home run, but Ohio responded with a two-run homer of its own to tie the score and eventually went ahead for good in the fifth inning. Blaine Goodwin and Jake Calvert each had a single and a double and Kenny Melton had a pair of singles and two RBIs for the Distributors.

Barlow 7, Pendleton 0 (Friday)

Pendleton opened the tournament with a loss to a very strong Barlow team that draws players from Barlow, Gresham, Park Rose and Sandy, yielding five runs in the fifth inning.

The contest came down to a six-consecutive hit attack in the fifth inning that led to five runs, outside of that, the game was a two-run affair. Starter Dusty Alberts was relieved after the first three, but Barlow greeted Josh McKinstry with three more.

"We didn't play bad," Cary said.
