MILWAUKEE — The Oregon Lobos, an 18-and-under softball team that featured a quartet of local players, finished their summer season over the weekend with a 3-2 record at the 18A?Regional Tournament.

The Lobos took fifth in the tourney while 18A State Champion West Linn topped the regional bracket as well.

The Lobos started the tournament well with wins over Impact Fastpitch, 2-0, and Menace NW, 5-0, on Friday, July 20.

Then Saturday they beat the Vipers 8-0 before running into West Linn.

West Linn was the first team to score on the Lobos, which were playing without Pendleton pitcher Kristen Crawford for the entire tournament. West Linn won 8-5.

Then in the 3rd/5th place game the Lobos weren’t able to keep up with Team Extreme in an 8-3 loss.

Shea Lindsey of Pendleton and Paige Long of Hermiston each hit .333 on the tournament.

For the season, Lindsey hit .398, Pendleton’s Kasidee Lemberger hit .381 and Long hit .355.
