PENDLETON — Six players reached double-digit scoring and Spokane remained atop the NWAC East standings with a 95-83 win over Blue Mountain on Saturday.

The Sasquatch (17-2, 3-0 East) shot 65.9 percent (29 of 44) from inside the three-point arc and got 38 points off the bench to hold off the Timberwolves (9-9, 0-3).

Blue Mountain was accurate from close range as well, hitting at a 58.1 percent (25-43) clip inside the arc, but couldn’t find their outside touch and finished with a 17.4 percent (4-23) mark from three-point range.

The loss came with a season-high 26 points on 10-of-16 shooting from guard Rayfield Bell, who was coming off a previous season high of 16 against Big Bend the night before. He added eight rebounds, six assists and five steals against Spokane.

Spokane out-rebounded BMCC 52-34 and was led by Levi Taylor with 19 points and Jacob DeVries added a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Blue Mountain is on the road this week for games at Yakima Valley on Friday and Wenatchee Valley on Saturday, Jan. 23.

EASTERN OREGON 74, SOUTHERN OREGON 64 — At La Grande, Kalvin Johanson scored 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting and Eastern made a big halftime lead stick to down the Raiders in Cascade Collegiate Conference play Saturday.

Travis Meeker added 15 points and Trell Washington chipped in seven points to go with a team-high 11 rebounds for Eastern (9-11, 5-5 CCC), which shot 43.1 percent (28-65) from the field for the game.

Jordan West led Southern (14-6, 7-3) with 19 points and 10 rebounds and Joel Spear added 14 points and six assists.

Up next for the Mountaineers is home game against College of Idaho on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Women’s Basketball

SPOKANE 94, BLUE MOUNTAIN 79 — At Pendleton, the Blue Mountain Timberwolves couldn’t keep up with the hot-shooting Spokane Sasquatch on Saturday night, leading to a 94-79 loss.

The Sasquatch (12-6, 1-2 East) shot 53 percent (35-66) from the floor and 50 percent (9-18) from 3-point range in the game to run away with the win.

Blue Mountain (7-10, 1-2) did all they could in shooting 42 percent (28-66) from the floor and 50 percent (8-16) from 3-point range, but it wasn’t enough.

Bri King led Spokane with 25 points on 9-14 shooting and 4-7 from 3-point land. Savannah Heugly continues to pace the Timberwolves and did so again tonight with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Kayla Reyna netted 14 points and knocked in three 3-pointers.

Aside from its hot shooting, Spokane also dominated the glass on Saturday, out-rebounding Blue Mountain 46-28 — including 17 offensive boards.

Blue Mountain hits the road next week, traveling to Yakima Valley on Friday at 6 p.m.

EASTERN OREGON 75, SOUTHERN OREGON 69 — At La Grande, there are no more unbeaten teams in NAIA Division II women’s basketball after Payton Parrish and Nikki Osborne combined for 42 points in a win over No. Southern Oregon on Saturday in Cascade Collegiate Conference play.

Parrish drilled six 3-pointers to finish with 22 points and Osborne shot 10-for-11 from the charity stripe, pulled down eight rebounds and added five assists to highlight her 20-point night.

Maloree Moss added six points and five assists and Jordan Klebaum had seven steals for EOU (12-7, 8-2 CCC).

Ashley Claussen was all over the place for SOU (16-1, 9-1) as she tossed in a game-high 25 points and nailed five three-pointers. Carly Meister registered a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Eastern hosts College of Idaho Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
