Hodgen Distributing notched its 15th win of the summer on Thursday afternoon as it defeated the Pasco Sun Devils 7-1 to kick off the Walla Walla Bruins Tournament at Borleske Stadium.
Ryan Stahl pitched four innings of one-hit, one-run baseball to earn the win for Hodgen Distributing (15-5). He allowed his only run in the top of the first, after a leadoff walk and a hit batsman set up a fielder’s choice groundout to bring in a run for Pasco.
Stahl then allowed only two baserunners over his final three innings on the mound. Kyle Field pitched three scoreless innings of relief.
Hodgen tied the game in the bottom of the first on a RBI single from Quinn Doherty that scored Tucker Zander, and took the lead in the second on a bases-loaded walk drawn by Curtis Simons for the 2-1 advantage and Hodgen added on from there.
Matthew Demianew had a team-high three hits with two RBI for Hodgen, while Stahl had two hits and scored two runs.
Hodgen Distributing continues tournament play today with a game at 11:45 a.m. against Michael’s Toyota (Bellevue, Washington) back at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla.
