RICHLAND — Hermiston had several athletes punch their ticket to the 3A state track and field championships Friday, May, 19, during the first day of action at the 3A District 8 Championships at Fran Rish Stadium at Richland High School.

Landon Shilhanek finished third in the 400 meters, but his PR time of 50.01 met the state qualifying standard, broke his own school record and earned him a trip to state.
