ATHENA — Jessica Lambert struck out 15 batters and the Weston-McEwen TigerScots jumped on Oakland early for a 9-2 win in the first round of the 2A/1A softball state playoffs on Wednesday.

Taylor Entze drove in four runs, including two on a home run in the sixth inning, and Keegan Shepard drove in two more for Weston-McEwen.

The No. 5 TigerScots advance to the state quarterfinals with the win, where they will face the winner of today’s game between No. 13 Reedsport and No. 4 Bonanza.
