BOARDMAN - The Mac-Hi Pioneers won three games and dropped five at the Riverside Tournament in Boardman Saturday. Each team played two games against the others.
The Pioneers dropped both games to Imbler, 20-25, 18-25, defeated Heppner 25-22, 25-19, split with Riverside, winning 25-17 and losing 11-25 and dropping a pair to Grant Union 19-25, 10-25.
Mac-Hi coach Pam Frank said her players were a bit worn-out at the end of the day.
"There's still some fatigue things going on with the rally scoring," she said. "It's a longer game going from 15 points to 25 points and it's early in the season so conditioning is a factor."
Erin Harris was 25 for 30 serving with five aces, six kills and two blocks, Charlene Hubbard was 13 for 15 serving, with nine assists and three kills and Katie Roehm was 12 for 15 serving with three aces.
"I was very happy with the way the team played," Frank said. "We showed some improvement in the last two days. I'm looking forward to our match against Weston-McEwen at our gym on the 10th."
