COLLEGE?PLACE — The No. 18 Eastern Oregon University men’s basketball team knocked off Walla Walla University on the road Wednesday, 65-50.

The Mountaineers (5-0) held off a feisty WWU team behind three double-digit scorers. Jamar Johnson led EOU with 16 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Thomas McCarthy and Jeff Ranstrom each finished with double-doubles. Ranstrom had 13 points and 10 rebounds and McCarthy added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

EOU?WOMEN 102, WALLA?WALLA?49 — In College Place, the Mountaineers (3-0) were led by a 32-point performance from Nicole Redd. The freshman was 11 for 13 from the field and 6 for 8 from behind the perimeter. She added six rebounds as well.

Eastern shot 61 percent from the field in the game, including 12 of 24 from behind the arc. EOU outrebounded the Wolves, 44-18.
