Swimmers from Pendleton and Hermiston have qualified for the Class 5A meet at Mount Hood Community College in Gresham.
The Oregon School Activities Association released its list of swimmers for the meet, set for Friday through Sunday. Each event includes champions from the six 5A conferences and six fastest non-championship qualifiers statewide, based on their times in the conference meets. No swimmer from Pendleton or Hermiston won an individual title in the Intermountain Conference meet Saturday at Bend.
Pendleton sophomore Lucas Hill is seeded 10th in the 200-yard freestyle after swimming a personal-best 1:53.87 for second place Saturday. His 5:06.54 in the 500 freestyle Saturday earned him an eighth seed in that event.
Buckaroo freshman Brooke Collins is seeded 10th in the 50 freestyle with a 29.26 and ninth in the 100 freestyle at 56.88.
Hermiston junior Jordan Bert made the cut in the boys 50 free with a time of 23.54, earning the 12th and last spot in that event. Freshman teammate Taylor Goodwin is seeded eighth in the 100 breaststroke at 1:07.47.
Pendleton's 200 and 400 free relay team made it with times of 1:37.82 (10th seed) and 3:42.72 (11th). Deven Jennings, Jordan Royal, Nick Lapp and Hill swam the relays for the Bucks.
Pendleton was second and third in boys and girls team standings Saturday, while Hermiston was fourth and sixth. Summit won both team titles.
