PENDLETON - The Pendleton Majors all-star softball team, winners of the district, state and regional titles, will be officially welcomed home at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Stillman Park.

The team recently posted a 2-3 record for eighth place in the Little League World Series in Portland.

The event will include a community barbecue for the first 750 people to arrive, with hot dogs, chips, watermelon, snow cones and soda. The Pendleton City Council President Steve Taylor will present the team with a key to the city, and dignitaries representing the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation will also recognize the team.

Organizers are asking are encouraging participants in the Welcome Home Celebration to wear green and gold clothing. Volunteers are needed to help with the event. For information, call Louisa at City Hall, 966-0235.
