HERMISTON — The Weston-McEwen volleyball team continued to progress against some tough competition on Saturday at the Hermiston tournament.

The TigerScots lost to Burns (25-14, 25-13), Hermiston (25-9, 25-16), Pendleton (25-9, 27-26)?and Baker (25-15, 25-20) but got better as the day went along according to caoch Shawn White.

“We got a lot better but we didn’t win a lot. Everybody we played today was good,”?he said. “We actually played better and we got better as the day went on.

“It was a good tournament. I’m happy that we got to play there and I?thought we competed well most of the day.”

Morgan Entze led the TigerScots (0-5) with 22 assists, 14 kills and four aces on the day, Taryn Coffman added 15 assists, Molly von Borstel had 16 kills and 11 digs, Katy West chipped in eight kills and four blocks, and McKayla Carlin had 29 digs while serving 21 for 22.

 In other tournament action, Hermiston defeated Pendleton 25-19, 25-23 in a preview of their Columbia River Conference series.
