CLEVELAND - Indians All-Star outfielder Grady Sizemore is scheduled to have arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow at the Cleveland Clinic on Wednesday.

Team physician Dr. Mark Schickendantz will perform the operation. Sizemore also needs to undergo lower abdominal surgery, but no timetable has been set for that procedure.

He spent time on the disabled list from May 31-June 23 to try and ease the inflammation, but wanted to return to try and help the Indians get back in the AL Central race.

After setting career highs in home runs (33), RBI (90) and stolen bases (38) a year ago, Sizemore hit only .248 with 18 homers, 64 RBI and 13 steals in 106 games this season.

Manager Eric Wedge said the team expects Sizemore to be fully recovered and ready for spring training in February 2010.
