Big River champs earn chance to advance

UMATILLA — Registration is open for the Big River Men’s Club Championship, which will be held on the weekend of Oct. 18-19 at Big River Golf Course.

The gross field champion will qualify for the 2015 OGA Tournament of Champions while the net winner will qualify for the 2015 Oregon Net Championship.

Cost is $80 for club members and $90 for nonmembers. Play will begin each day with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.

Ladies Club prepares to close season

UMATILLA — The ladies golf season at Big River Golf Course will end with the Ladies Club Closing Scramble on Saturday, Oct. 11.

The Ladies Club will hold a business meeting and continental breakfast at 8 a.m. prior to a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Cost is $15 and the sign-up deadline is Oct. 8.

Youth basketball clinic scheduled

PENDLETON — Pendleton Parks and Recreation will host a youth basketball skills clinic that will run over eight Sundays starting in October.

The first clinic is Oct. 5 and all sessions will be held at Pendleton Recreation Center.

The clinic is open to players in the third-eighth grades at a cost of $79.

Registration and fees are due by Friday, Sept. 26.

No admission for open gym

PENDLETON — Adult open gym is offered each Sunday night from 7-9 p.m. at the Pendleton Recreation Center.

Admission is free but bringing a friend is strongly encouraged.

The Pendleton Parks and Recreation adult basketball league begins in November.
