BEND - The Summit Storm dominated the Pendleton Buckaroos in an Intermoutnain Conference football game Friday.
The Storm (1-1 IMC) took advantage of three Pendleton turnovers and scored 30 points in the second quarter en route to a 51-14 victory. Pendleton fell to 0-2 in the IMC and 0-3 overall.
"We just didn't show up to play," said Pendleton head coach Brice Gundlach. "I'm kind of at a loss. We just need a better effort and need to find kids that want to play."
Summit's Justin Valley had a 15-yard touchdown run and had touchdown passes of 64 and 36 yards to John Torsey. Chris Ward caught a 44-yard touchdown pass from Valley and had a 12-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
"They looked a lot better than they did on film," Gundlach said.
Bobby Corey caught touchdown passes of 25 and 35 yards from Trevor Patterson for the Bucks' only two scores in the fourth quarter. Seth Cox led the Bucks with 66 yards rushing and Patterson finished 8 of 31 for 185 yards passing.
"We were three and out too many times and you can't beat a good football team that way," Gundlach said. "We just didn't get it done early."
Corey finished with 60 yards receiving and Tim Austin led the Bucks with 85 yards receiving.
"Bobby Corey played a great game on both sides of the ball," Gundlach said.
