PENDLETON - The Blue Mountain Community College men's basketball team had a chance to tie Wednesday's game as time expired but couldn't capitalize, giving Treasure Valley a 71-69 NWAACC victory.
TVCC's Justin Lott scored 28 points to lead all scorers.
"We beat ourselves again," BMCC assistant coach Bill Zyph said. "We are committing way too many turnovers, and we are not getting to the lane enough."
BMCC (1-6 NWAACC, 11-10) had 16 turnovers, while TVCC (4-3, 6-14) had nine. The Timber- wolves outrebounded Treasure Valley 50-37.
"We outplayed them in all aspects of the game except execution," Zyph said.
BMCC's Patrick Newman finished with 22 points and eight rebounds, while teammate and Pendleton High School graduate Justin Nuess had 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Jacob Swartzendruber scored 12 points for BMCC, and Elvis Medina had 12 points for TVCC.
BMCC, which lost its second consecutive NWAACC contest, led 32-31 at halftime and shot 46 percent (13 of 28) from the floor over the first 20 minutes.
TVCC 84, BMCC 65
PENDLETON - Rosalind Lee led BMCC with 20 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday, but BMCC fell to Treasure Valley Community College 84-65 in a women's NWAACC game.
Shelby Cullen had 15 points and Desiree Staples scored 12 points for BMCC (0-7 NWAACC, 1-19).
TVCC (1-6, 4-14) led 37-29 at intermission while shooting 47.1 percent from the field.
