LAKEWOOD - In the Greenriver/Pierce Community College Tournament, the Blue Mountain Timberwolves went 2-1 in the tournament, tying for third place Saturday.

The Wolves (6-15, 1-6 NWAACC) faced Skagit Valley twice, winning 2-1 (34-36, 30-26, 15-12) in pool play and then 3-0 (30-27, 33-31, 30-21) in bracket play.

The Wolves' loss came courtesy of Columbia Basin 3-0 (30-15, 30-15, 30-20).

Kelsey Jorgenson led the team with 37 kills in the three games combined and added 24 digs on the day.

Kallie Axelson set 67 assists and came up with 28 digs and Rebecca Franke turned in 50 digs and seven aces.

Kyni Wofford chipped in 20 kills and Kara Mann had the same number of digs.

The Wolves host Walla Walla CC Wednesday.

"It's going to be a tough match," coach Kari Jones said. "We're just looking to play our game and improve. We have improved a lot and we need to just keep going forward."
